FAQ

Ableton Remakes & Templates

Why does Serum laod as just "Init Preset"?

This usually happens because your Serum version is outdated. To confirm your Serum version, open Serum, go to the 'Menu', then hover over and click 'About' to see which version is installed.

In Serum 2, you can also click 'Check for Updates' from the menu to ensure you’re running the latest version.

  • Update to the latest version of Serum 2.
  • If you’re still using Serum 1, make sure you have version 1.351 installed.

What do I need before purchasing an Ableton remake?

Please check the individual product page before purchasing. Most Ableton remakes require Ableton Live Suite and may require specific third-party plugins, instruments, or sample libraries. These requirements vary from project to project.

Third-party software is not included unless explicitly stated. If you don't own a required plugin, you may still be able to replace it with an equivalent plugin or Ableton stock device, but we cannot guarantee identical results.

  • Ableton Live 11.3.25 Suite, or higher.
  • Serum 2 or Serum 1 version 1.351 or higher.

Can I still use the project without the plugins? - Yes, as long as you have the Ableton Live or a newer compatible version, you can open the project and replace missing plugins with your own instruments or effects. You can also modify the MIDI and use your own sounds, instruments, and plugins.

Where stems are included, they can generally be used in other DAWs or music-production software.

Please note that MIDI files are often provided as Format 0 and may not contain CC automation or modulation data. As a result, MIDI may not reproduce every detail of the original Ableton project when used outside of Ableton.

Why does Ableton show "VST2" missing?

This happens if a Plugin Version is not installed on your system. Here’s how to resolve it:

  • Install the latest Plugin include VST2 and 3.
  • But you don't always need this exact plugin; you can use your own or Ableton Stock instead. Use the plugins you already have!!

Why are Samples missing?

Some instruments come from Ableton’s free built-in libraries, which you can find in the Live Packs section of Ableton’s browser.

Some instruents are Kontakt Player Libraries, you need to purchase the corresponding third-party Libraries.

  • But you can use other Kontakt Libraries. Use the libraries you already have!!

Sometimes Ableton doesn’t automatically point to the correct sample folder. Some remakes include a dedicated 'Samples' folder inside the project file. Here’s how to resolve it:

  • In Ableton, go to the File Manager.
  • Choose Manage Project → Manage Samples.
  • Click 'Set Folder' and point Ableton to the 'Samples' folder located inside the downloaded Ableton Live Project folder of the remakes.
  • Click 'Go' and Ableton will find and replace the missing samples.
  • Finally, collect all and save.

Do I need Ableton? Do sounds/ MIDI work in every DAW?

You need Ableton Live Suite 11.3.25 or higher to open the Remakes and Templates.

For all other sounds, samples or stems you can use the DAW of your choice.

  • Important note - MIDI files can also be opened in other DAWs, BUT Ableton only exports MIDI File Format 0 without CC modulation. You need to redo the MIDI CC in other DAWs due to Ableton 11 export limitations.

Are your Packs compatible with Mac?

Yes, all of our sound packs are fully compatible with both Mac and Windows systems. Just make shure to check your versions for remake files or templates.

Accuracy & Originality

Projects are handcrafted and recreated by ear, with attention to detail and accuracy. Please note that we are constantly improving and refining our work. Some older projects may not reflect our current quality standards.

Please note that a 100% accuracy is not guaranteed. Some of the Ableton Live remakes are recreated entirely by ear and are intended as interpretations or learning resources rather than exact reproductions of the original recordings.

The projects may differ from the original soundtrack in arrangement, sounds, instruments, effects, timing, MIDI, mixing, mastering, and other details. They are not based on the original project files, stems, MIDI files, scores, sheet music, or official notation, and no original notation or transcription is included unless explicitly stated in the product description.

A remake is an interpretation of a production, not the original session. The original recording may contain roprietary sounds, instruments, processing, recordings, automation, mixing decisions, or production techniques that cannot be reproduced exactly. Our projects are created to help you study and recreate the production approach, not to guarantee an identical result. The remakes should therefore not be considered 100% accurate representations of the original soundtrack. Our goal is to provide useful, inspiring, and educational project files that allow you to study and explore how a track may have been recreated in Ableton Live.

All projects are intended for personal and educational use only.

Can I use the projects for commercial releases? Or share with friends?

The projects are provided for personal and educational use only. They are intended to help you study, learn, experiment, and understand music production techniques. See our Terms and Conditions
